The Den's Declaration of War
Throughout history a certain entity has appeared in texts and tales from all over the globe. Normally this entity is only described in shadows and sometimes are even touched upon in a single line included in a lengthy text. This entity has no true form, no name, no identity of it's own. Over the past year a study of this phenomenon has come into sharper focus than ever before and the task of seeking it out and facing it has already begun.
Efforts have been made in order to articulate some kind of identification for this entity and grant the ability to describe it and its effects on both people and inanimate objects. While the exact origins of the entity are still unknown it's purpose is all too clear, to destroy magic.
In study a single quote has helped to grant perspective on the problem.
"Trouble spawned three children."
It is believed by some that the entity itself has three main parts based on elemental principles. These are the three facets. The three "personalities" for lack of a better term. These three facets work in unison in unraveling magic and other types of energy. They are not limited to the metaphysical world. That can and do effect the physical as well. They live on the borders between this and that. On the fine line between our reality and all other dimensions. Therefore they are able to effect all sides equally.
The second reference used for description of the entity came in the form of a fictional poem.
"Came the visions of icy beauty,
from the land of death where they dwell.
Pursuing their prize and grisly duty,
came the thieves of the charm and spell."
The poem was titled "The Chimes" and offers the only pliable description of their presence in the world. Used here because imagination is a from of magic and it is also being effected.
When touched by this entity all sorts of manifestations have been reported and documented. Victims find it difficult to concentrate or focus on the simplest tasks, especially those involving magic. Muses begin to fail, unable to communicate clearly with the rest of the world. In magic, spells begin to go awry or fail to manifest at all. Energy levels drop in spite of efforts to maintain them. There is an increase in "chaotic" thinking or emotions and without these focuses the witch sooner or later comes to their breaking point. Even physical problems have been reported. To add to these stresses there is also a reported increase in problems with technologies. All communications tools are effected cutting off those in need of help from others. Computers crash, phones cut out, and even standard mail has had a habit of not showing up at it's destination or items sent through the mail have been lost along the way. Especially magically charged items.
Psychologically those touched by the entity have a fear response and get feelings of being bound or tied up. They don't want to communicate their fears, experiences, or problems with others after they have seen this thing first hand due to fear of the responses they might get. They simply don't want others to think they have gone insane. And in holding to that they literally do. Even when they do find the courage to come to someone else with their problems they have an extremely difficult time attempting to describe the problem or what is happening to them.
Even this address is scabrous because the first step in confronting the problem is identifying it and admitting that it is there. Over the years there have been spontaneous musings written over perceived "holes" are a weakening of the Veil Between the Worlds. I believe that all these things are related and linked to a single source.
The spiritual weakening, the failing of magics, the increase in "supernatural" activity (including spirits and darker manifestations), chaotic thinking and emotions, the silence of the muses, all of the technical and communication issues, the holes in the Veil, even the problems we face as a world wide community with all of the economic stresses and governments not being able to decide issues with certainty. We have to consider that every detail applies. It is a grave mistake to think that just witches are being effected. Everything is being effected. Humans, animals, physical objects, technologies, our infrastructure, communications, the Veil, and all of the realms beyond. And while we have our problems manifesting here in this world those in other realms are facing their own. Including the Gods.
Magic is failing. Which is the purpose of this entity. To end all magic, all muses, all of the powers that people and nature has to create. And because this thing unravels magic and effects anything that contains metaphysical or standard energy such things are useless against them. There is no spell or physical way to defeat it. Yet.
The Den and Den-X is starting an amalgamation in order to gather together all the evidence, descriptions, references, and personal experiences with this phenomenon in a brave effort to gather up all the Intel we can on the problem so that we can work together with other people and groups in a collective effort in stopping it and helping those who have already been effected by it. Some of whom are in dire need.
Steps have also been taken to create a new type of prestidigitation that will aid in protecting the Den members and all those linked to the Den's unique web of unified magic from the full effects of the entity. This form of prestidigitation has already been put into place and due to our own security can not be discussed beyond two facts. One, the protection is there. And two, it's unity based and in a constant state of flux.
This initial statement and acknowledgement of the entities existence is going to cause a reaction. I advise everyone to prepare themselves for it as best you can. These are the calm moment before what might be a long and violent storm. This thing we will be facing off with has it's own agents. Human agents. Infected probably without even realizing it at times. They will be coming. And we will face them with the same resolve as if they were the beast itself.
My friends, I'm standing here before all of you and the entirety of the pagan community world wide and taking a great risk. I am putting everything I have ever accomplished on the line in acknowledging the plain and simple fact that there is something out there that does not want to be found, yet has found nearly all of us.
There is no point in pulling punches now.
The Den, it's leaders, it's loyalist, and it's members are herby declaring war on this entity, all of its facets, and all of its agents, spiritual and mortal alike. Any one or any thing found to be aiding in the efforts of the entity will be dropped to a man without passion or regret. Aid in the problem and I will spend my every effort to cut you down. Know this and believed it. This is not a game, not a joke, and not to be taken lightly.
Our future as a people is at stake. The sooner people come to terms with that and step up to offer their aid the sooner this will all come to a better end. I'm asking everyone who reads this to forego all of your fears and bring them to light so that we can make efforts to aid all of those in need.
Our site Den-X will be reconfigured as an Intel collection site where all information available for this problem can be collected and offered to the general public. The leaders and members of the Den itself will be working on ideas and strategies to fight the entity itself. All of the other Den sites will also aid in the efforts to gather information and experiences, references, and links to join all those willing to aid in our efforts.
All efforts to the contrary will have its price. There is no middle ground. You aid in the efforts or you will find yourself out there on your own. And when this thing comes for you we may not be there to aid you in that future.
Information and personal experiences with this problem will be coming. Keep an open mind and try to keep things in focus. Efforts will be made to throw us off and stop this organization and line forming from happening. That has been its primary strategy. That strategy wont work any more.
As of this moment we are at war.
And I would imagine all of you have serious work to do.
