Hail, Brighid! Keeper of the forge,
she who shapes the world itself with fire,
she who ignites the spark of passion in the poets,
she who leads the clans with a warrior's cry,
she who is the bride of the islands,
and who leads the fight of freedom.
Hail, Brighid! Defender of kin and hearth,
she who inspires the bards to sing,
she who drives the smith to raise his hammer,
she who is a fire sweeping across the land.

The Kingdom

Paganism is a largely unexplored country of thought littered with tangled
forests of confusion, deserts of trial and error, mountains of forgiveness, and
rivers of woe. The pagan world has no boundaries save for self imposed
limitations that are often drawn by fear, misinterpretation, emotional
insecurity, or the fact that some people are just bat shit crazy. No, really!

The Pagan world has a wildlife population that defies imagination. From the
deadly to the kind our world, like any other, is… Continue

The Heart Cloak

Since mankind first started to observe the world around them, and all the
mystery that it holds, they have attempted to explain what their minds could not
comprehend or articulate into words. They began with the things that are
essential for survival. Most prominently, animals (food). But there were other
things out their in the natural world. Things that were not necessarily
essential for survival. Things that they could not fully comprehend and forces
that they could scarcely understand.

The Bog of the Forgotten

In many of my writings I have made reference to a ravine that lays not
too far from where I live. It's the place where I was "reborn" as a
witch and probably where I will end this little life journey (if I'm
lucky). This time of year the ravine is bursting with life. Bubbling
up from beneath a tree on the southern ridge is a natural spring. The
waters are always cool and sweet tasting. But it is a bittersweet
gift of nature, this particular spring. It has the power to wash away
all negativity an… Continue

How to Boil an Egg

One of the primary undercurrents to what I write about has always
been simplicity. Mankind has developed the bad habit of taking
something simple and making it look and sound more complicated than
what it is. Then we spend a great deal of time and money coming up
with ways to break the newly complicated thing down into categories,
sub-categories, labels, pretty boxes, and lots of paperwork. I figure
we do all of that just to have something to do. (And produce stupid
and needless jobs.)
We can cr… Continue

Labyrinth of the Minotar

There has always been and always will be people who have a strong feeling deep
down inside them that they are searching for something even though many of them
never have the epiphany of what that something is. It's instinctive and unique
to humans, that feeling of wonder lust and curiosity. The great double edged
sword of the human experience; it is the same instinctive drive that is both our
blessing and our curse, leading us to achieve great things and suffer terrible
miseries.

Oddly enough,… Continue
